The National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT) officially launched the “Algeria Bid Round 2026” on April 19, 2026, in Algiers, at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center.
The launch ceremony was chaired by the President of ALNAFT, Mr. Samir Bekhti, in the presence of the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, as well as several members of the government, including the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, the Minister of Industry, and the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises. The event was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sonatrach Group, along with representatives of international energy companies.
During the ceremony, presentations were delivered by ALNAFT engineers and executives to outline the legal and fiscal framework governing the hydrocarbon sector in Algeria, as well as to unveil the seven perimeters put up for bidding under this call for tenders. The proposed perimeters are as follows: El Borma II (Ouargla), El M’Zaid North (Ouargla), Illizi Central I, East Bordj Omar Driss I (Illizi), El Hadjira III (Touggourt), Touggourt South, and El Benoud East (El Bayadh).
Furthermore, ALNAFT has set November 26, 2026, as the deadline for the submission of bids. The announcement of results is scheduled before the signing of hydrocarbon contracts with Sonatrach, planned for January 31, 2027.
